![]() In Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, EggRobo can be chosen after completing all of Rouge's missions and being selected under Rouge's model, but without the E-shaped race track. It also comes with its own E-shaped racetrack with " E.G.G.M.A.N." playing as the background music. In Dreamcast release, EggRobo plays exactly like Sonic, and is only available from the official VMU download called Eggrobo Kart Racing in the game's North American website. Rouge's acceleration is top-notch and her grip is good. ![]() The red guardian is not the fastest, but his excellent grip helps players negotiate the tight turns. Sustained speed is not his forte, but the decent grip helps maintain control. The fox is quick off the line with very high acceleration. He is a great driver for beginning players. ![]() Shadow's stats are almost equal to Sonic's. In Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, this exclusive kart is available after completing all of his missions, but without the "High-Speed Trial" race track. It also includes the race track "High-Speed Trial" that contain curves, Dash Panels, and an instrumental version of " Live and Learn" as background music. This downloadable content has been available in the game's North American website. Sonic is also able to get a kart with a larger, fanned-out back from the official VMU download called High-Speed Trial Kart Racing. His speed is only matched by Shadow, his acceleration is good, and his grip is fine. The player can also determine the difficulty of the challenge from Easy to Hard. However, if the player does use the boost with twenty Rings and collects forty Rings, they can only use the boost once. ĭuring the races, the player has to press the Jump button to accelerate, the action button to break and collect at least twenty Rings to use a speed boost by pressing the special action button. The player can also achieve more carts designs by completing all of their missions. This will open a hidden option in the one-player option called "Kart Race" which will take the player to a list of all the characters in the main gameplay, each with their own carts that differ in abilities. The minigame Chao Karate was also added to the school area, as well as the Black Market, where toys for Chao can be purchased with rings. In Sonic Adventure 2, the player can access the Kart Race after completing Route 101 or Route 280. The other major changes lie in the Chao raising system, which allow for interconnectivity with the Game Boy Advance game Sonic Advance's Tiny Chao Garden. The main differences deal with the Multiplayer aspects of the game, with a larger number of characters available from the start. There are a few minor upgrades and differences, but it is essentially the same game as the Dreamcast version, but re-released on the Nintendo GameCube. Sonic Adventure 2: Battle is a remake of Sonic Adventure 2, with all the same levels and the same storyline. Finally, Tails and Eggman have "shooting" levels, where they also try to reach a goal ring, but do so in large and cumbersome Mechs. Rouge and Knuckles have "treasure hunting" levels, where the goal is to collect 3 of an item (Usually, but not always, shards of the Master Emerald). Each character has an opposite on the other story: Shadow and Sonic have "speed" levels, where the object is usually to reach a goal ring. The other story is the "Dark" side, which has similar levels to the Hero side, except played by Shadow, Rouge, and Eggman, the former two making their first appearances in this game. There are also two separate stories in this game, the "Hero" side, consisting of back to back levels by Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails. For one, the Adventure Fields have been removed, leading to nonstop level after level. The game uses an interesting scheme, with avery different play style than that used in Sonic Adventure. Sonic Adventure 2 is the sequel to the earlier Sonic Adventure, and one of the last games to appear on Sega's last system, the Sega Dreamcast.
